It is exciting, as a Pastor, to see practical examples of the
fruit of the Spirit (Ephesians 5:9) in the midst of the flock
over which Christ has made him an under-shepherd. The desire
for, and concept and first issue of, The Burning Bush are
such examples. By and large this first issue of a young adult's
magazine arose out of a desire from the young adults themselves;
furthermore, they are the ones who will contribute most of the
labour in ensuring its continued existence.
And this is how The Burning Bush must maintain its existence.
We are a small denomination. Office-bearers and many members
are stretched to the limit in the work of the Church. Yet this
young adult's magazine is an important work: an important
work in which young adults can labour themselves.
As the Editor of The Burning Bush I encourage
and challenge the young adults in our congregations to contribute
to the work. Write letters with questions, or suggestions, or
comments. Are there certain rubrics, or issues, or subjects
which you would like to see addressed in the magazine? Are there
regular contributions which you can make, as members of our Churches?
Are there occasional items of interest which you could contribute?
Then please do! Contact Mr John Torlach at 100 Tinaroo Street,
Durack, 4076, ([07] 3278 9236), and let him know how you can
help. The success, or otherwise, of The Burning Bush
depends on you, the young adults in our Church.
And this is a project which is worthy of success. There are many
issues which face you as young Christians. There are many truths
of the Word which are being denied by the world and the Church-world
alike. There are a number of truths for which we stand almost
alone in the world. The forces of Satan are arrayed against us,
as we stand for the truth of the Scriptures. We need to have
a better understanding of these things. We need to be capable
soldiers for the cause of God and His Kingdom.
Well, a magazine such as this is one tool by which we can discuss
the issues of concern, the error of the world, and the truths
and distinctives for which we stand. A magazine such as this
is one means by which we can be strengthened and built up in our
most holy faith. A magazine such as this is one way we can become
more cohesive and unified in the denomination of which we are
a part. Let us fight, might and main, therefore, to see that
this magazine succeeds. Let us help each other. Let us role
up our sleeves and work, not only, but enjoy the fruit of our
labour also: let us prosper from the production and reading of
regular issues of The Burning Bush.
