In 1886 William Binnie D.D., professor of Church History at the Free Church College in Aberdeen, published a most useful book titled, The Psalms: Their History, Teachings and Use. In this book Binnie has a section on what he calls Christ Mystical. This is, perhaps, one of the most helpful treatments of the whole matter of how we should approach the Psalms and see Christ in the Psalms that has been written. I share it (somewhat modernized in its language) with you now, in the hope that it will further enlighten you, as it has me, in the knowledge of Christ.

This is a big picture psalm.  It positions us in heavenly places with Christ the King. Then, from the Divine perspective, we can understand what is actually taking place all around us on planet earth.
